How to use bottlecaps to learn Serbian days of the week?

Reading my previous posts, you will notice that I use bottlecaps often. I am a huge fan of bottlecaps. The possibilities for using bottlecaps are endless. You could use them to teach kids to spell their first Serbian words, build Serbian vocabulary, learn basic grammar rules, and more.

Kids love to learn by doing. They move and touch objects and learn as they do so.

You will need:

  • 7 large bottlecaps
  • Bottle caps days of the week in Serbian and in English
  • scissors
  • glue
  • plastic bowl

This activity is crazy easy to set up

Start by printing the pdf. Grab the scissors and cut out the days. Use glue to place days of the week in Serbian (blue) on the tops of the bottlecaps and days of the week in English on the bottlecaps’ insides.

Here are 2 simple ways to use bottlecaps to learn days of the week in the Serbian language

Activity#1

Place the bottlecaps in a plastic bowl. Your kid must arrange Serbian days in the correct order. If your child is struggling, you should step in and help them out. Over time, your kiddos will become more confident and be able to use this activity independently.

Activity#2

Lay down the bottlecaps on the floor, days in Serbian facing up. Now, arrange the days of the week in the correct order. Now, pop a few bottlecaps in a bowl. Invite your kiddos and have them find the missing days.

Another thing I love about this bottlecap activity is that kids can use it independently. After arranging days of the week, they can self-check by flipping the bottle caps. If days in English are in the right place, then Serbian days are set correctly.

Gather your supplies. Start by printing Roll a die sheet, a recording sheet for each kid, glue, and colored pencils.

Use scissors to cut out the die and glue to assemble it.

Kids take turns rolling a die, look at the day they just rolled, say the day aloud, and use a colored pencil to mark the day on their recording sheet.

Who doesn’t like board games? Kids love playing games, but what they hate doing are worksheets. Are you ready? One fun and simple board game is coming your way.

For this activity, you will only need a free board game, a die, and some playing pieces.

Let’s set it up

Place the board game in front of your kiddo. Grab a die, and your playing pieces. Kids roll dice and move along the board game. As they land on the day, they must read it aloud and name the day in English. If they place the counter on a blank space, they must say which day is missing. The player who reaches the end first is the winner.
